Editorial policy
DealOtter exists to make a buying decision clearer. These rules govern every review and guide, regardless of whether a company has a commercial relationship with the site.
Evidence before conclusion
Reviews use published policies, terms, help-centre documentation and pricing structures. Direct experience is included only where it exists and is identified as such. We do not imply product testing, purchase histories or conversations that did not happen.
Scores are editorial
Every score is a DealOtter editorial judgement under the five-part rubric described in how we review. It is not an aggregated customer rating, laboratory result or universal fact.
Commercial separation
Payment cannot buy coverage, placement, a higher score, advance approval or removal of criticism. Rankings use the editorial score. Affiliate status is disclosed independently of the conclusion.
Names and bylines
Current work is published under the collective byline The DealOtter editors. We do not create fictitious writers, portraits, credentials or biographies. If named contributors are added, their real identity and relevant experience must be supplied before publication.
Specifics that change
Prices, fees, offers and policies can change without notice. Reviews explain the durable mechanism and direct readers to confirm current terms with the company. Time-sensitive figures are used only when they can be dated and sourced.
Corrections and review
Factual challenges are evaluated against primary evidence. Material changes are corrected on the affected page and should include a note explaining what changed. See the corrections policy.
